Targeting Bacteria

One specialized type of laser acne treatment actually targets the bacteria, P. Acnes, that causes the inflammation, swelling, pain and redness that is caused by acne outbreaks. The wavelengths that are directed at the skin kill both bacteria on the surface as well as bacteria under the skin. This style of laser treatment usually lasts about six to eight months before the treatment needs to be repeated.
